The only boast!

This is what the Lord says:

“Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me,
that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord.                     

                                                                                                              - Jeremiah 9: 23-24

Father, it's your story and thank you for the loving invitation to join you.  Forgive us of our mere morality and pride.  Thanks be to you, Amen.

No need to move the mountains without LOVE!

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. -1 Corinthians 13:2

Father, thank you for your gift of LOVE that outlasts everything else! Fill me with your love and help me to share it with others. Thanks be to you, O Lord. Amen!

Time to lace up, your race is starting NOW!

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. - Hebrews 12:1-2

Father, thank you for the many examples of Faith lived out in ordinary lives. Jesus, thank you for the perfect example for me to focus on. Holy Spirit, thank you for the daily coaching and support to help me persevere for the individual race that you have assigned. Amen!

Please keep shining your light in my Face!

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.    -Matthew 5:14-16

Father, thank you for all the shining lights that you have placed in my life. Help me to shine your light to others as well. Amen.

Well intention statements are made, "I forgive you, but I will never forget". Wow, where is the mercy and love that the Father has shared with us? It cannot be used just for us, it must be payed forward to others in our lives. Don't be plastic! Live by the Word.


Father, thank you for forgiving me of my sins. Help me to remember that your forgiveness is grounded in my ability to strive to forgive others that have sinned against me. Spirit, guide me and teach me to do as the Father does. Amen
