What gives you Hope?

I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints.

Father, open the eyes of my heart, I want to see you! Help me to know you and give me strength to respond to your call. Amen!

Want to be a new creation?

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!                                         2 Corinthians 5:17

Father, Thank you for your solution, Jesus. Through only you, we can be eternally new.......... Amen!

Are you willing to share a cab ride with a stranger?

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

Father, Thank you for accepting me with all my flaws and shortcomings. Please cleanse me and fill me with your love so I can accept and share your love with others. Amen!

Would you take a bullet for your enemy?

If, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life.
                                                                                                                    Romans 5:10

Father, the only reconciliation that is lasting is the gift of your Son for us. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. All praise, glory, and honor are yours. Amen.

Could you make the ultimate sacrifice, your child for a bunch of knuckleheads?

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.                      2 Corinthians 5:21

What is the most impressive bridge you have seen?

There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men.                       1 Timothy 2:5-6

Father, Your gift of Jesus to us has no logic, but displays an unconditional love beyond my understanding. Thank you for providing us a bridge to you through him. Please open my eyes and mind to see you more clearly. Amen!

Can I depend on U?

My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
                                                                                             Psalms 62:7

Father, Thank you for taking care of me beyond anything that I can do for myself. You are the rock, you are the ultimate refuge. All praise, honor, and glory are yours. Amen.

If I believe, I will suffer? And Like it?

It has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for him.                                                      Philippians 1:29

Father, please provide me courage to stand in the gap and to stand for you without any hesitation. I will need to focus on you with all my might. Help me honor you in all I do. Amen!

Do you forgive? Do you expect to be forgiven?

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.                             1 John 1:9,

Father, you are faithful and just. I confess I have sinned against you in my daily thoughts, my daily word, and my daily deeds. Please forgive me this day so that I can share you and be faithful and just to others that have sinned against me. Amen!

Wingmen Speaker: Dr. Nate Hearne


Dr. Nathanial Hearne is the President and Founder of Made Up Minds and The Euless Loaves and Fishes Foundation. Through these organizations, Dr. Hearne provides training and programs to reach at-risk youth for the purpose of strengthening character, teaching leadership skills, and increasing school attendance. This helps set them up for success in life.

Dr. Hearne’s background in this field is extensive. He began his career in education in the Ector County Independent School District (ECISD), where he worked for 18 years as a teacher, coach, and administrator.

While in Ector County, he was an assistance coach for the Permian High School football team, which won the 1989 State and National Championship. Permian High School was the subject of the National Bestselling book Friday Night Lights and a subsequent movie and television series by the same name.

Dr. Hearne was named Outstanding Principal of the Year for Region 18 in 1993-94, and Assistant Principal of the Year for HEBISD in 2008. He served as an assistant principal at L.D. Bell High School in Hurst, Texas for four years, and as assistant principal of the Discipline Alternative Education Program for five years. Inhis last five years in the district, he served as the Student Attendance Specialist and Director over the HEBISD’s Truancy Department. In December 2010, the Dropout Prevention Program Dr. Hearne initiated in the HEBISD was recognized by Texas School Business magazine as the “best dropout prevention program in the state.”

Dr. Hearne is the former Assistant Executive Director of the Greater Dallas/Ft. Worth Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Among his duties at FCA, he conducted the pre-game chapel services for university football teams including University of Oklahoma, Texas Christian University, University of Tulsa, University of Idaho, University of Louisiana, and Louisiana Tech.
