Are you willing to share a cab ride with a stranger?

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

Father, Thank you for accepting me with all my flaws and shortcomings. Please cleanse me and fill me with your love so I can accept and share your love with others. Amen!

Would you take a bullet for your enemy?

Can I depend on U?

My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge.

Father, Thank you for taking care of me beyond anything that I can do for myself. You are the rock, you are the ultimate refuge. All praise, honor, and glory are yours. Amen.

If I believe, I will suffer? And Like it?

It has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for him.                                                      Philippians 1:29

Father, please provide me courage to stand in the gap and to stand for you without any hesitation. I will need to focus on you with all my might. Help me honor you in all I do. Amen!

Do you forgive? Do you expect to be forgiven?

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.                             1 John 1:9,

Father, you are faithful and just. I confess I have sinned against you in my daily thoughts, my daily word, and my daily deeds. Please forgive me this day so that I can share you and be faithful and just to others that have sinned against me. Amen!

Dr. Nathanial Hearne is the President and Founder of Made Up Minds and The Euless Loaves and Fishes Foundation. Through these organizations, Dr. Hearne provides training and programs to reach at-risk youth for the purpose of strengthening character, teaching leadership skills, and increasing school attendance. This helps set them up for success in life.

Dr. Hearne’s background in this field is extensive. He began his career in education in the Ector County Independent School District (ECISD), where he worked for 18 years as a teacher, coach, and administrator.

While in Ector County, he was an assistance coach for the Permian High School football team, which won the 1989 State and National Championship. Permian High School was the subject of the National Bestselling book Friday Night Lights and a subsequent movie and television series by the same name.

Dr. Hearne was named Outstanding Principal of the Year for Region 18 in 1993-94, and Assistant Principal of the Year for HEBISD in 2008. He served as an assistant principal at L.D. Bell High School in Hurst, Texas for four years, and as assistant principal of the Discipline Alternative Education Program for five years. Inhis last five years in the district, he served as the Student Attendance Specialist and Director over the HEBISD’s Truancy Department. In December 2010, the Dropout Prevention Program Dr. Hearne initiated in the HEBISD was recognized by Texas School Business magazine as the “best dropout prevention program in the state.”

Dr. Hearne is the former Assistant Executive Director of the Greater Dallas/Ft. Worth Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Among his duties at FCA, he conducted the pre-game chapel services for university football teams including University of Oklahoma, Texas Christian University, University of Tulsa, University of Idaho, University of Louisiana, and Louisiana Tech.

Don't Look! Can you name the fruit of the Spirit?

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.  Against such things there is no law.
                                                                                                           -Galatians 5:22-23


Father, there is a lot of knuckleheads out here and it is hard to apply this instruction. Please help! Holy Spirit guide me and fill me with your power so that this becomes an everyday harvest. Lord in Your mercy, hear my prayer. Amen.

Where is Hope?

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13

Father, open my heart so you can fill me with all joy and peace. Strengthen my trust in you. Thank you Holy Spirit for the overflowing hope. In the name of you Father, you Jesus and you Holy Spirit. Amen!

Are ready to answer in a respectful way?

In your hearts, set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.                                                                               -1 Peter 3:15

Father,  1st prepare me to answer when asked, 2nd help me to be considerate and respectful. This instruction is seldom applied together correctly. Give us strength to trust you in your word. Amen!

Do you know where to find comfort during times of trouble?

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all of our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.    -2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Father, Thank you for your comfort and care for me. Thank you for over flowing me with this so I can share you with others in need. We all need to talk it out with you, thanks for walking with us every step of the way. Amen!

Do you want ME to point out what is offensive in YOU?

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Psalms 139:23-24

Father, You know me better than I know myself. Please be gentle while leading me to YOU! Help me to not struggle and trust and relax in your hands. This I pray in your name, Amen.

Heart Check! Are U PERFECTLY faithful to anyone?

O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things, things planned long ago.             -Isaiah 25:1

Father, you are King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Thank you for your perfect faithfulness and all the wonder and advancement of life here on Earth, out in the universe and forever in Heaven. Amen! 

Are YOU teaching your kids WELL?

These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.                 -Deuteronomy 6:7

R U Pissed, Rude and Proud?

Father, Please forgive me for my pride and anger, create in me a new heart and fill me with your LOVE so I then can share that love with others.  I ask for your peace which surpasses all understanding, today. Amen!

Father, I witness that in my limited experience of life that Religious folks do the exact opposite.  The scarlet letter mentality is alive and well throughout our world and especially inside the church.  Help us individually to embrace your word and embrace our neighbor fully knowing that each one of us need to be gently restored in some aspect of our lives...... Please forgive me, please strengthen me, please protect me.  Amen!

If any of you lacks wisdom he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.                                        -James 1:5

Father, I ask you for wisdom, direction, protection, and to be included on the resume of Jesus for perfection.  In your name I pray. Amen!

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Father, your mercy, grace and love are great.  Thank you for proving me wrong again and showing up and proving to me you are real.  Forgive me for my doubts and strengthen me and renew a right spirit within me.  In your name I pray, Amen.

Google - How do I escape temptation?

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.                                  - 1 Corinthians 10:13

Father, I trust your word and will run to you when temptation has me cornered.  Give me the wisdom needed and help me to be on guard.  And as always, thank you for being my comforter and protector.  In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen!

Stop Complaining and Shine!

Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life.
Philippians 2:14-16

Father, help me to shine YOU in a crooked and depraved generation.  You are the only salvation, to you be the glory.  Thank you for daily grace and mercy and unconditional love.  Thanks be to you, oh Lord.

Set yourself FREE!

Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."                                                                        - John 8:31-32

Father, I want to know you more. Holy Spirit fill me with the Truth, Jesus!  Teach me, Guide Me, and please set me free.  Amen!

Love your Neighbor! Period! - God

If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother."                                                 1 John 4:20-21

Father, please forgive me in this area.  Give me the strength and clean heart to obey and follow your instruction.  In your mercy, I pray. Amen
