Daily Word - Yes, even you, like sheep you have gone astray!

He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Father, thank you for loving me even as I have gone astray.  Your sacrifice can never be repaid, only worshiped and praised. To you be the Glory, Amen.

Daily Word - The Ultimate Man of Sorrows

He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he took up our infirmities and he carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted.

Father, your plan to redeem me is amazing. How and why you chose to take your son and expose him to such public disgrace I will never comprehend. But this I do know: you love me with an everlasting love. I pledge to you that I will serve you with all of my strength in thanks for his great sacrifice. Through Jesus I pray. Amen.

Business Revolution - Applying the Love Chapter

13 If I speak in the tongues^[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.² If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. ³ If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,^[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

⁴ Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. ⁵ It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. ⁶ Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. ⁷ It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
⁸ Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. ⁹ For we know in part and we prophesy in part, ¹⁰ but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. ¹¹ When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. ¹³ And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

In his book "Love Works" Joel Manby gives insight on his attempt to apply The Word to normal everyday business practices.

Joel elaborates on these seven principles:

1. Be patient—demonstrate self-control in difficult situations.
2. Be kind—show encouragement and enthusiasm.
3. Be trusting—place confidence in those around you.
4. Be unselfish—think of yourself less.
5. Be truthful—define reality corporately and individually.
6. Be forgiving—release the grip of the grudge.
7. Be dedicated—stick to your values in all circumstances.

If you choose to lead with love, others around you may not initially understand what you’re doing. But Joel admonishes to do it anyway. This type of leadership is more important than the temporary approval of your coworkers.

Father, thanks for your guidance. Help us to embrace you more. Amen!
